How we treat one another

• Human dignity comes before winning an argument.
• Identity is not an invitation to debate someone’s existence.
• Ask questions respectfully, without interrogating people.
• Protect privacy: do not expose another person’s identity or private information.
• No hate, harassment, threats, exploitation, spam or medical misinformation.

We may decline, edit or remove material that undermines these principles. Thoughtful moderation matters more here than growth for growth’s sake.

What we welcome

We welcome original reflective writing about identity, belonging, loneliness, change, family, community, disability, mental health, society, technology, understanding, hope and the future we are building. A typical story or essay is 600–1,500 words. You do not need to be a professional writer, and you may use your name, a pseudonym or ask to remain anonymous.

Before you send

• You must be 18 or over and have the right to submit the work.
• Remove details that could identify other people without their permission.
• Tell us about potentially distressing themes so we can add a content note.
• Do not include anything that could place you or somebody else at risk.
• Do not send work generated to imitate somebody else’s lived experience.

Editing, permission and ownership

Every submission is read before publication, and submitting does not guarantee publication. Editing will be collaborative. You retain copyright; publication happens only after you give written final approval and grant Bridging Tomorrow non-exclusive permission to display and share the agreed version.

You may withdraw before publication. If you later ask us to remove published work, we will consider the request compassionately, although cached or archived copies outside our control may remain. There is currently no payment unless separately agreed in writing.

Safety and response times

The submissions inbox is not monitored continuously and cannot provide crisis support. If a submission suggests immediate danger, our ability to respond or intervene is limited. Please use the urgent services listed on our safeguarding page.
